KANSAS CITY WIZARDS SOCCER CAMPS

The 2009 KANSAS CITY WIZARDS SOCCER CAMPS will once again provide local area players of all ages with a fantastic camp program and a chance to meet Kansas City Wizards players and coaches.

This summer we will be offering two different types of camp, one aimed at the Premier players in the region who want more than just a fun camp experience and we will also be introducing a new camp aimed at the younger players who want to learn new footskills, play games and have fun!

Hello, this is Jack Jewsbury and Davy Arnaud from the Kansas City Wizards,

Soccer was a huge part of our lives when we were kids and we know it’s a big part of your life too. We went to a lot of soccer camps when we were your age and they really helped us improve as players.

The Wizards, along with our friends at Challenger Sports, are putting on the 2009 Wizards Summer Soccer Camp program. The 2009 Wizards Camps will have an advanced program of instruction for serious local premier players. There will be some of our favorite practices from our own youth soccer days as well as drills we did in college and as professionals. The instructors will be coaches who love and understand the great game of soccer, and their goal is to help you prepare to have the best season that you have ever had.

 
We will also be launching a new camp exclusively for the youngest Wizards fans. This will be packed full of fun soccer games, individual skill challenges, competitions and lots of scrimmaging and unlike any other camps in the city, you’ll see Wizards players at each camp helping out and talking to you about soccer.

The WIZARDS PREMIER PLAYERS CAMPS have been created specifically for competitive male and female club players ages 10 - 16 who are looking for something more than a regular soccer camp. Players may sign up individually or as a team, and will be coached within age and ability groups. The campers will enjoy a demanding and rewarding training program that will see them combine advanced skills, fitness, speed and competitive play. The focus of the 3 hour a day week long camp is to expose players to game-orientated training that will improve both their technical skills and  their tactical soccer awareness. The emphasis of the coaching will be on the mastering of advanced skills, performance under pressure and playing at speed in game related situations. 

 

    The camps will feature: 

   • Passing and receiving on the move
   • Midfield Combination Play
   • One v One Defending
   • Team Defending 
   • Shooting and Volleying
   • Crossing and Heading
   • Shooting from Distance
   • Taking on and Beating Defenders
   • MLS CUP - Daily competitive games.



The WIZARDS JUNIOR CAMP is the perfect camp for 6-9 year olds who love soccer and who want to enjoy meeting their Wizards soccer heroes up close. The camp will run for 3 hours each day and will combine footskill development along
with competitions, fun games and even their own min MLS Cup.
