THE ART OF FREESTYLE SOCCER!
Freestyle soccer has existed for some time, but it has seen a surge in popularity as a result of global advertising campaigns and digital media sharing. In the early 21st century, advertising campaigns began to rely on the freestyle form of football, including video clips of freestyle performances. These advertisements featured famous players such as Ronaldinho and Edgar Davids. After such campaigns many previously non-famous players have risen to prominence, and internet searches easily yield thousands of videos by amateur "freestylers" around the world.

Some of the more notable freestylers include: Hee Young Woo (Mr. Woo) of South Korea, Craig Dobson, Abbas Farid and John Farnworth, the European and World Freestyle Soccer Champion and 4 times World Record Holder!!!

JOHN FARNWORTH - WORLD FREESTYLE CHAMPION!
John grew up in Preston where he started his interest in soccer at a young age. He would always look at the players on television and videos that could do something a bit different with the ball, this gave him the drive and determination to practice and learn these different skillsthat he enjoyed watching so much.
John began to progress in soccer leading him to be selected to play for Preston Town for two years. He trained three times a week using the Brazilian methods and a size-two weighted ball which aides skillful play , something that John enjoyed and developed greatly from. After training, John would stay behind to further define his skills . This developed his ability to perform freestyle tricks. At this time in his life, there were many television adverts showing and promoting these tricks and skills, these gave John further inspiration and ultimately led to him training everyday, always trying to improve and develop new skills and performance to impress his friends and family.
In 2004, John met with world-renowned performer Mr. Woo, who noticed his abilities with a ball and invited him down to his competition in London. John won this competition and subsequently in December 2006 John was crowned the World Freestyle Champion in Amsterdam.
John has developed his own unique style and his own individually choreographed freestyle routines through years of dedicated training. He will train in excess of 40 hours per week in order to maintain, perfect and improve on his already exceptional complex and stunning displays.
